About Second Passage

Second Passage is an online publication focusing on international affairs.
The founder, Andrew Kessinger, holds a joint masters degree in International Affairs from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University. Through this highly selective program, to which only fifteen students are admitted each year, Andrew cultivated a unique European and American perspective on foreign affairs while gaining fluency in French.

During the last six years Andrew has served as an editor for four different publications – The Common Ground News Service, The Paris Globalist, The New Atlanticist (as an intern) and The Journal of International Affairs – from Washington, Paris, Rabat and New York.

His writing often focuses on the international intersection of online technology and human rights. Other areas of interest include transatlantic cooperation, the relationship between Muslim-majority countries and the West, the Arab-Israeli conflict and foreign policy in the MENA region.
